Kudzu Art---Original Paints, Artwork, and Prints

I am 48 years old, and although I have always had a passion for art, I have only been painting for about 7 years. What first began as a hobby, painting decorative art on objects and plaques, has now progressed to landscapes, florals, and portraits on canvas. Painting has now enveloped every aspect of my life.

I find my best work comes from things that mean the most to me. When I am being pulled so strongly that a thought or belief can only be expressed from the heart, then I pull out a canvas and begin to pour myself into the painting. The process can be painful and yet liberating. For the finished piece is not only a reflection of who I am but also a part of me that is displayed for the world to see.

My favorite medias are oil and acrylic but I also enjoy just simple sketching. I am mostly self-taught and continue to develop my skills and techniques through instructional books, tutorials, and studies of master works by other fine artists. I strive to expand my knowledge of different painting styles in order to better portray my work and ideas.

Fine art is my passion, and the future is full of wonderful moments to capture on canvas. Thank you for sharing this journey with me.
